MY SEASON HAS ARRIVED!

Two Ocean Descent

In the never ending search to ski the perfect line,
One must free the heel and free the mind.

Riley says: "If you aren't crashing, you aren't skiing."

Can I Help You?

My name is Riley, I'm a Wilderness First Responder. Can I help you?

OH WELL HEY THERE

Oh Well Hey There

The next time you find yourself in the midst of western Idaho’s breathtaking mountains, remember to give a big heydiddilyho to Sir Spud Von Tate R. Tot, chief of the Gnocci tribe.

Riley says: “There is a wisdom of the head and a wisdom of the heart.”

EASILY AMUSED? WHO? ME?

Hello Lunch Hour!

As mid-day draws near and appetites surge,
Lunch hour commences as foods do emerge.
To sway from the trend you’ve fallen into,
Please join me and my aluminum canoe.

Riley says: “It’s not what you look at that matters, it’s what you see.”

A Bodacious Blanket

Ahhh... The things I do for my own personal amusement.

PERSEVERANCE PREVAILS

Aerial Roots

Aerial roots must battle it out,
Whether in flood or whether in drought.
Defying the odds they overcome,
What few think could ever be done.

Riley says: “Age wrinkles the body. Quitting wrinkles the soul.”

RILEY MEET RILEY

At 11:30 p.m. on a deserted highway, my vehicle’s gas tank beyond empty and yet, incredibly still running, I found myself in Riley County, Kansas. With over 30 miles to my final destination of Manhattan, I feared I would have to Fred Flinstone the last leg.

However, an inexplainable force brought the universe together in the Life O'Riley and I arrived snug as a bug in a rug riding a pug named Doug.

Hallelujah

REFLECTION... GET IT?

Reflection... Get It?

In "The Natural State," more commonly known as Arkansas, it is only "natural" to take in some form of reflection...

Riley says: "Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself."

TRENDSETTER?

Chairs, Chairs Everywhere!

Charlotte-Douglas International boasts something few other airports can shake a stick at... Rocking chairs...

Riley Rocks, Seriously... He Does.

In a society overrun with tanning beds, K-Feds and prescription meds, I rocked... And I rocked hard!

Riley says: "I think Bigfoot is blurry, that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault Bigfoot is blurry. And that's extra scary to me, because there's a large, out-of-focus monster roaming the countryside."

HEAVY? NOT IN A SUIT LIKE THAT.

Another Workout...

Who needs a heel hook when you can fly?

Riley says: "And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my spandex."

A WEE EXCURSION

El Winds

Thus far in my life, Saturdays have been what I refer to as “My Days.” As a strapping young lad, I remember dedicating myself to cartoons, cartoons and yep, you guessed it, cartoons. These days, Saturdays seem to disappear right before my eyes. However, this past Saturday was different, quite different in fact. As if stepping back into time, I reclaimed My Day and it has never felt so good.

Handa Standa

Departing from Worthern Meadows, I laced up my shoes and stepped into Prefontaine’s world. Well, his world had he been from Lander, Wyoming, loved the Wind River Range and chosen a 20 mile trail run. Throughout several hours I battled through nearly every type of weather imaginable while making fresh tracks the entire time. The journey was by no means easy but was well worth every stride, step and stumble.

Riley says: “My former motto? Run when chased.”

ONLY IN WYOMING

Gallivanting down the street on a crisp, cool morning, I stumbled upon a barber shop scene that perfectly exemplifies Wyoming in the fall.

Only In Wyoming

To the Bubbas, Billy Bobs and Bobbie Sues... I salute you.

Riley says: "I expected the Rocky Mountains to be a little rockier than this."

ODE TO FALL

Gasp!

Fall colors decorate a mountainous scene,
A setting sun’s gorgeous gleam.
Ascending through perfect pine,
Which emit a scent oh so fine.
Does a fallen tree make a sound,
When it collides on that there ground?
I slip, I stumble, I nearly fall,
Did someone just yell, cannonball?
Cutting through an open patch,
I do believe I’ve met my match.
Hidden behind that aspen tree,
Growling harshly right at me.
I mean you no harm you insane beast,
Go find yourself another bloody feast.
I stick, I move, I’m gone in a flash,
He was lucky I didn’t go Mr. T on his ass.

Riley says: "I don’t care who you are, that’s funny right there.”
