NAME 3: I-Team
Allow me to introduce the instructor team for my upcoming United States Naval Academy mountaineering course...

OH, IT'S SPRING YOU SAY?

Peer Coincidence
Caitlin and I brought out the dapper last week for our students' end of the semester banquet at the Noble Hotel. The outfits? Sheer coincidence. I donned my father's wedding suit, while Caitlin brought new meaning to the word elegant in this ensemble worn previously at a family wedding.

A MOST EXCELLENT CULMINATION

C&R Sinks
Caitlin on Z-Boys, 5.8, Sinks Canyon

I had the pleasure of working the final section, a climbing camp, of Caitlin's proctorship. With blue sky on our side, we spent 11 days climbing the weathered granite walls at Split Rock before returning to Sinks Canyon for 6 days of sending steep, pocketed dolomite. I'd be lying if I said it wasn't one of the better Springs I've spent in the Lander area. Frequent visits from my folks, my sister, Calla, and my nephew, Jalen, were especially wonderful.

Unfortunately, and fortunately, my rock climbing is officially on sabbatical until August sometime. Caitlin and I are presently making our way from Wyoming to Washington to catch a flight north for two back-to-back mountaineering courses. And, while I'll no doubt have occasional dreams of steep rock walls, there's nothing quite like 20 hours of daylight and terrain so large you instantly feel far more insignificant than a needle in a haystack.

Stay tuned...
